Why I became a Bridal and Lash Artist
Growing up I loved doing makeovers. Whenever I had a chance I was changing up my style, or begging my sister to let me do her hair or makeup. Surprisingly, it didn't click that I could make a career out of it until my mom made the suggestion. We were at dinner one night, during my senior year of high school, and after months of trying to decide what I was going to do with my life and my original plans of being an actress, or a school teacher ( I hated school.. It didn't make sense to go to school to become a teacher to be in school for the rest of my life), my mom made the suggestion that I look into beauty school. GUYS!!! I thought my mom was a genius and why hadn’t i thought of it myself?!
Next thing I know I'm spending my days figuring out how to make it happen. Fast forward a few years later after I am a licensed cosmetologist and have taken extra makeup classes, I started focusing on Bridal Beauty. I love making a bride's beauty dream come true so that they look their best on one of the most important days of their lives.
Not long after I discovered lash extensions. My mom was extremely interested in getting her lashes done. I did some research in the area to find an artist up to my picky standards and fell short. When I told my mom the disappointing news she once again made another great suggestion: Why don’t I go do the training and bring the service to Southern Maryland. BEST.DECISION.EVER. I fell in love with lash artistry.
Now here we are 2.5 years later and I’m loving every minute of what I do. Seeing my clients' faces light up when they look in the mirror at the end of an appointment brings so much joy to my heart. I am so lucky that I am able to experience that feeling every time I’m in the studio.
Until next time, I hope your day is dreamy!
